About the artist: David Matthews
My love affair with Canada began as a child in the UK, reading 'Flight Two to Canada'. After many trips across the Atlantic and exploration of Canada, I emigrated to Canada a while back, and have grown very attached to the North. It is an immense pleasure as well as a privilege to capture the uniqueness of the boreal landscape through varied media. I am mostly self-taught, using words, watercolour and most recently oils to bring the outdoors inside.
My work is in private collections across the globe - from Japan to Germany.
